Clarkson’s Farm Season Two: What We Know About The Upcoming Season – Release Date

The release date for the second series of Clarkson’s Farm has just been confirmed and with only 64 days to go, we are taking a look at what we know so far about what to expect from the next season of the hit farming show.

The first season of the show came as a surprise to Jeremy Clarkson fans who have seen him reviewing cars all over the world on Top Gear and The Grand Tour for years. Fans instantly loved the show as well as it going down well with others from within the farming industry. The Prime Video show managed to give a true insight into the struggles that farmers have been facing for years rather than showing it through rose tinted glasses, but also kept the hilarity of Clarkson navigating his way through this new venture where he started with basically zero knowledge.

When Clarkson was speaking ahead of the release of the first season, he told the BBC why he made the choice to create the show.

“I’ve had the farm since 2008, but I haven’t really been involved with it at all. A man in the village ran it, and then he retired, and I don’t know what it was, but I just thought, I can do that.

“I genuinely thought you put seeds in the ground, weather happens and then food grows. So I thought, That’s not difficult,‘ but it’s phenomenally difficult and the heartache is extraordinary, plus it’s phenomenally badly paid. So I thought, if I get someone to film me doing it, that will offset some of the losses.”

When is Clarkson’s Farm season 2 coming out?

It has just been announced that the second season of Clarkson’s Farm will be released to Prime Video on 10th February 2023.

Prime Video made the announcement alongside Clarkson on social media with a number of photos with little clues in them.

Who will be joining Clarkson in season 2 of Clarkson’s Farm?

Clarkson’s co-star Kaleb Cooper very quickly became a fan favourite for his hysterical way of putting Clarkson in his place and having a go at him as if he is not the boss. We learnt very early on that Kaleb would be returning for the second series and then it was revealed in August that Clarkson will be joined by all of the same loved characters from season one.

So, joining Clarkson and Cooper will be the Grand Tour host’s partner Lisa Hogan, land agent ‘Cheerful Charlie’, and construction and maintenance worker Gerald Cooper.

Dan Grabiner, Amazon Studios’ head of UK Originals, spoke at the Edinburgh Film Festival in August about what fans could expect from the second series. He said:

“We’re just going into the edit now and it’s looking very good. More Kaleb Cooper, more Gerald. You can understand a little bit more of Gerald this time. I think maybe every season, you’ll understand a few more words of Gerald. It’s going very, very well. And also it’s just great to see someone like Kaleb, he had never been on television before.

“He’s an authentic – he was the tractor driver who happened to work nearby the farm. And I think it just shows you that new talent, particularly that sort of expert, authentic talent can just explode with the right vehicle and the right approach to the show. So I think observing his rise has been really an exciting part of that show.”

Clarkson’s Farm season 2 trailer?

Although the release date has been announced there is still no sign of a trailer just yet, however, we will be keeping our eyes peeled for that to be dropped shortly.

Despite this, we still have a good indication of what to expect from the second series from everything shared on social media from Clarkson, Cooper, and on the Diddly Squat Instagram account.

What can we expect to see?

The first series saw Clarkson working around the effects of the pandemic on the farming industry and viewers saw the severe financial impact this had on the Diddly Squat Farm. We expect to see them trying to bounce back from these issues.

As well as the financial problems from Covid-19, we saw the effects of long periods of drought followed by heavy rain. During 2021 and 2022 there were heatwaves, storms and snowy periods whilst filming for the second series was taking place so we expect to see Clarkson navigating his way around these conditions.

One big moment we are hopefully set to see is the difficulties Clarkson faced over opening his Diddly Squat restaurant. Planning was initially refused but the former Top Gear host then managed to find a loop hole and opened the restaurant differently to how he had originally planned.

Clarkson received a lot of local backlash over this and the restaurant was eventually closed down.

Another big business move we should see is Clarkson and Cooper starting their Hawkstone venture, Clarkson released a beer and Cooper released a cider.

The Grand Tour host also shared a very intriguing photo to his Instagram which teased a scene titled ‘Kaleb’s Chopper’.

Prime Video said the following:

“Viewers can expect more agricultural antics and typical Clarkson-crafted schemes, as the team invent new and creative ways to use the other half of the farm.

“As well as the returning cast, a few new characters will be welcomed to Diddly Squat, too, all helping Jeremy to continue pursuing his farming dream.”

Will there be a Clarkson’s Farm Season 3?

Prime Video has confirmed that there will be a third series of Clarkson’s Farm and that filming has already began.

In a video released to Prime Video’s Instagram account, we see Jeremy Clarkson, his girlfriend Lisa Hogan, and co-presenter Kaleb Cooper. Cooper and Hogan are standing in a field whilst Clarkson is mowing it a big ‘three’ into it.

What Jeremy Clarkson said about the show:

“I’m genuinely thrilled that we are doing a third season of Clarkson’s Farm. I’ve had some great new ideas, all of which have made Charlie, Lisa and Kaleb deeply unhappy,”

What Kaleb Cooper said:

“I’m over the moon to be taking part again. Well, they do say third time’s a charm! Maybe this will be the series that Jeremy finally starts taking advice from a real farmer!”

What Lisa Hogan said:

“There is a whole lot to catch up on here at Diddly Squat – series two is on its way so not long to wait for you to see how much the hard work and love of farming continues. It’s just grand to be already filming series three,”

What Dan Grabiner, head of UK Originals, Amazon Studios, said:

“Thank you Kaleb, Lisa, Gerald, and Charlie for making sure Jeremy doesn’t completely muck it up.

“Watching Clarkson’s Farm grow from an intimate glimpse into British farming to a global sensation has been a delight. We’re thrilled to be continuing the story year after year as the plot thickens for our favourite farmers.”

Whatever will be included in the show, we are very excited to see the second season and are sure it will be just as well received as the first season was.
