Jeremy Clarkson In More Trouble With Celebrity ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’ Postponed

Production of a celebrity edition of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” has been temporarily stopped after three female celebrities refused to work with the show’s host, Jeremy Clarkson. This was in response to Clarkson’s recent controversial column about Meghan Markle. Although ITV has publicly stated that scheduling difficulties are the reason for the delay, there are whispers of turmoil behind the scenes that may have led to the production halt.

A source said:

“The feelings were made very loud, and very clear. Namely that they didn’t want to share a platform with Clarkson and, in doing so, risk being seen to legitimise his misogynistic comments.

“They were appearing on the show to raise money for charity, and they were acutely aware that they didn’t want causes special to their heart to be caught up in any backlash. It was a no-brainer to be honest, they had to walk away.”

The women are said to have wanted to distance themselves from the controversial star. ITV has not yet commented on the matter. The postponement of filming was initially reported by the Daily Mail’s Alison Boshoff and attributed by ITV to scheduling conflicts. Despite everything being set, including studio and crew bookings at Dock 10 in Manchester, the filming of the charity event will not proceed as planned.

According to the Daily Mail, an email said:

“Owing to some movement in the ITV schedules, we’re now unable to record the planned Celebrity specials until later this year.”

The former Top Gear host is rumoured to be cut off by Prime Video after the controversial column, meaning the streaming service will not extend any contracts that they have with Clarkson. So, Clarkson’s Farm would end after the third season and there would be four more specials of The Grand Tour.

Clarkson’s Farm season two is still due to be released on Prime Video on February 10.
