Jeremy Clarkson To Open A Farmshop In His Home Town

With Jeremy Clarkson’s new farming show, I Bought A Farm (working title) officially being confirmed by himself and Amazon Prime Video, we can’t wait to get stuck in to the farming action. And it seems as though Jeremy is feeling the same way, as he has proposed plans for a farm shop on his estate which he’s nicknamed, Diddly Squat Farm, which sits in the Cotswolds

His neighbours aren’t overly happy about this decision however, and have been pushing to get the plans denied. Parish councillor Tony Allan told the Oxford Mail:

“The potential impact on the village store and butchers is a concern. People move to these kind of villages because they like them as they were.

“We have seen new money coming into the Cotswolds such as Soho Farmhouse and Daylesford organic farm shop and they risk changing the character of the communities.”

On top of this shop, Clarkson also wants to build a farming shed and a carpark which he will use for farming and ‘film-making’.

In a statement to the publication, the TV personality said: “[He’s] not doing anything wrong or anything that would hurt the village but didn’t blame residents for their concerns, otherwise what is the point in planning permission.”

If Jeremy built a shop, would you buy from him? Stupid question… of course we would.

  1. I went to his closest town earlier this year and stopped at the local cafe/newsagent/post office/bakery etc… and was told lots about the little town. It’s a fantastic quaint country village and I’d visit there every time going to that area. The cafe sold the best cuppa tea and the biggest piece of carrot cake I’ve ever had! I’d stop for a look at his shop too
