Jeremy Clarkson Weighs In On Monaco Grand Prix Drama: “Monaco S**t Show”

The Monaco Grand Prix is currently being saturated in rain as the start has been delayed by 30 minutes now. But while I’m sure the F1 drivers are pleased to get out of their cars and wait for the water to dissipate, fans of the sport are itching for the racing to begin.

The Monaco GP isn’t known for its racing, especially with these modern cars being so heavy and large. It’s extremely difficult to overtake on the narrow road track, so when the rain started falling, we were all quite excited to have another layer of excitement.

The formation laps began, but as soon as we settled into a bit of racing, the start was delayed further as the red flags started waving.

Now, Jeremy Clarkson has weighed in on what’s happening via Twitter:

“If safety is this important in F1, it’s probably best to not race at all.”

“I’m watching the cars on the road outside my house. It’s more interesting than this Monaco shit show.”

The tweet gained almost 30,000 likes in just half an hour, with hundreds of comments from fans who were keen to give their opinions.

“F1 turned into a proper joke. People wanted Masi’s head, be careful what you wish for,” one user said.

“Jeremy, can you become a race director?” another asked.

One fan had a very good question: “Beginning to wonder what the whole point of wet tyres are if we just not going to race when it rains.”

Another adds: “Unbelievable how ridiculous the FIA are. Could’ve been an epic first 10 laps by now. Instead they are waiting for considering to improve so that they can consistently provide us with a full Monaco GP.”

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
