The Grand Tour

What is Drive Tribe and How Can You Sign up for It Now

On the heels of their amazingly, successful premiere, the hosts of The Grand Tour can finally put some focus on their new digital venture, Drive Tribe. For those of you who have been wondering what this community is going to be like, you’re not alone. A lot of us are still trying to figure it out, as the doors to the site just opened up to the first batch of early adopter signups.

We were lucky enough to get an invitation and just finished setting up our profile and creating a new tribe, which I’ll talk about in a bit.

WHAT IS DRIVE TRIBE?

First, I wanted to go over what exactly Drive Tribe is. According to Jeremy Clarkson, it’s like YouPorn for cars, which is what Richard Hammond had to resort to in order for Jezza to understand.

That definition is kind of true as it looks like this is going to be a one-stop shop for car fans to feed their need for speed and power. If you’re a fan of pink fenders and the dice hanging from a review mirror, this is the place for you. It’s the friend for the friendless, the clubmaker for the clubless. I think Jezza needed a video to understand it better, so here you go:

As a Tribe Leader, you decide if you want your community to create content for you or if you are going to create the content for the community.

As a Tribe Member, you will be fed your tribe content through your dashboard, so that you can discover all the amazing content being created in your tribes. It’s kind of like Facebook Groups, but much better looking.

SIGNING UP FOR DRIVE TRIBE

A few months ago, anyone could have gone to DriveTribe.com and applied to be a Tribe Leader and in the recent days, Drive Tribe has started to email people with special codes to sign up. Here is an example of the email we got with the code already used, so “CodeHere” is just a placeholder, not the actual code. You’ll have to wait to get a code through special invitations, so keep a look out because we’ll hand them out as we get them.

Next, I was taken to a page to sign up with my Facebook profile and then select a minimum of six different tribes to probably make sure I get the right amount of content to find this platform valuable. From what I could tell, there are literally hundreds of tribes already up and running.

I was then asked to fill out my profile and upon finishing that, I was able to finally go create a tribe of my own, which really didn’t take that long at all as long as you have a photo, name and basic description.

Of course, I had to create a tribe for Grand Tour Nation, so I’m hoping you all will accept my invitation here:
