Freddie Flintoff Top Gear Crash: More Details Revealed By Son – “Lucky To Be Alive”
The BBC announced yesterday that Top Gear host Freddie Flinotff had been airlifted to hospital after a crash during filming at the shows test track. Flintoff’s son has now commented on his father’s condition saying “he is lucky to be alive.”
Flintoff’s son, Corey, spoke to the press about what he knew at the moment. He said:
“I’m not too sure what happened but he is lucky to be alive. It was a pretty nasty crash. It is shocking. We are all shocked but just hope he’s going to be OK.”
When the BBC spokesperson made the announcement, they explained:
“Freddie was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning, with crew medics attending the scene immediately. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course.”
Top Gear posted to social media to let fans know about the incident as well. They wrote:
“Freddie Flintoff is recovering in hospital after an accident at the Top Gear test track. Flintoff’s injuries not ‘life-threatening’,”

There has not been a further official statement on how Flintoff is doing and what exactly happened. Flintoff’s co-hosts Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris have also not commented or posted anything on social media at the time of writing, and it is not known as to whether they were there at the time.

We await further information but hope to hear that Flintoff is doing ok very soon. The news has nudged many to feel something needs to be done to make the show more safe. Many fans have been reminded of Richard Hammond’s horror crash whilst filming for the show in 2006 which left him in a medically induced coma.
