Top Gear: Chris Harris Details What He’s Wanting From Next Series Of Popular Car Show
Top Gear’s latest series was another brilliant return from Chris Harris, Paddy McGuinness, and Freddie Flintoff as they explored further the world of cars. But while the BBC show took the team to places such as Iceland in the latest run of episodes, Chris Harris has revealed where he’s desperate to go next.
Chris Harris is a self-proclaimed semi-professional racing driver with a host of experience in racing series such as 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Blancpain GT series, and endless rally weekends. As we saw in the latest series, Freddie also now has a racing license, as does Paddy. So Chris is excited to get all three of them going head to head in an official race of some sort.
Talking to the press, Paddy revealed that he’d love to race with his co-presenters now they’re armed with licenses.
“I think we should all do a race,” he said before Chris continued: “I’m desperate for the three of us to go and do a race.”
He went on to admit that he’d already been thinking about this:
“We think we’ve identified one that’s going to be perfect.
“It’s not till the end of the summer next year, but there is a particular race in Belgium which is just perfect,” he admitted.
Not knowing what he was talking about, Paddy turned to Freddie and asked: “Do you know about this?”
Freddie turned back and to reply: “No, but I’ve got an idea where he’s going with it.”
“I’m always the last to know. I like it though. That’ll be good,” Paddy revealed.
After Top Gear’s episode showcasing Freddie’s testing to achieve a racing license, he opened up on the experience:
“I’ve always wanted to get better at driving and have a go at it.”
Although he admitted that it wasn’t quite as easy as he expected it to be:
“I was of the opinion that the fastest car wins. I always thought, ‘Oh, he’s got the fastest car he’ll win.’
“But, when you get in one you realise actually the amount of skill that’s involved and concentration.
“For me, I play cricket. You concentrate for two seconds at a time and switch off.
“If you do that in the car you’re off,” the presenter told the press.
