Top Gear News: Further Details Of Freddie Flintoff’s Horror Crash Revealed

Top Gear presenter Freddie Flintoff was involved in a serious accident on the show’s test track back in December 2022. The 45-year-old presenter was hospitalised and suffered broken bones as a result of the accident. Now, new details have emerged suggesting the crash was even worse than previously thought and that the vehicle involved did not have a roof.

According to an insider who spoke to The Sun:

“The injuries were more severe as the car didn’t have a roof. It was a freak accident and somehow the car flipped over and the two men were dragged along.

“Freddie and the crew member were both wearing helmets, but it was still a severe accident. Everyone on the scene was shocked by how serious it was and they were very worried about the two men strapped in.”

In light of the accident, it remains uncertain when filming for Top Gear will resume, and the show’s continued existence is now in doubt. The show is expected to debut slightly later than usual in 2023 as a result.

The psychological impact of the accident on Freddie remains unclear. A source close to the star told The Times:

“He was making a good recovery physically following the crash, but the psychological impact was less clear.”

Friends of Freddie claimed that the star was considering quitting Top Gear entirely after the incident, and it was reported that he was left “psychologically traumatised” after a stunt went wrong during sub-zero temperatures on December 13, 2022.

Freddie’s son Corey spoke to the Daily Mail just after the crash, saying:

“He’s OK. I’m not too sure what happened but he is lucky to be alive. It was a pretty nasty crash. It is shocking. We are all shocked but just hope he’s going to be OK.”

Piers Morgan, who had been in contact with Freddie’s family, revealed that the star had been left shaken by the accident. He told TalkSport:

“I’m told it was a pretty serious crash and that Freddie’s going to be OK, but it might be a little bit more serious than first appreciated. I’m told he’s going to be OK which is great news, but I’m also told it was a pretty nasty bang and that he’s had surgery and is recovering now and we’ll have to wait and see.”

The latest developments regarding Freddie Flintoff’s accident on the Top Gear set have raised questions about the future of the popular BBC show and the well-being of its star. Fans of Top Gear and Freddie will be eagerly awaiting further updates on the situation.
