2021 Honda Civic Sedan Debuts On Twitch With Whole New Premium Look

For many, the Honda Civic is a vital part of hatchback era. It’s an even more vital part of Honda’s history, with it being an accessible performance car for many who can’t afford the fancy supercars you read about from lucky journalists. The last generation Civic was maybe a tad overly fussy compared to its smooth and rounded predecessors, but now the 2022 Honda Civic Sedan has been revealed, all looks well in Honda’s design department.

It was revealed over Twitch, and while it’s currently said to be in prototype form, it looks as road-ready as anything else, while looking more mature than any other Civic yet.

Everything seems to sit lower on this car, such as the ride height and body height. But in keeping with past Civic designs, the car has been given plenty of window in order to maintain an open feeling within the cabin.

From the video above, it’s clear to see that this car is human-centric, with comfort and trust in the car being at the top of the priority list. It’s also clear to see that the Japanese marque has risen into the premium market, with an exterior and interior design being largely reminiscent of an Audi A5, especially from the rear. The interior has plenty of space with minimal switchgear and a 9-inch Display Audio touchscreen in the centre of the dashboard. It’s also the first time a Civic has been treated to a fully-digital cluster behind the steering wheel.

This cabin is pushed back and the bonnet has been elongated, and while it certainly retains the character of the Civic, there’s no doubt there’s a new design language being invented here. It’s a gorgeous shape with its body lines only accentuating the depth of the Solar Flare Pearl paint job that this specific car wears.

Honda is a brand that excels with technology, and that hasn’t changed with the new Civic, with this car boasting a suite of upgraded driver-assist Honda Sensing technology. A new Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure also makes this car incredibly safe at the time of a collision, for both occupants and pedestrians.

Powertrain? Well this hasn’t been revealed just yet and neither has pricing. But when the Civic is brought to the market late Spring 2021, we’ll be seeing a hatchback version, Si, and of course the much-awaited Type R.
