A More Powerful 400HP Toyota Supra GRMN Is Coming

The Toyota Supra GR didn’t go down too well on its release last year. Not only did its drawn-out reveal take away most of the excitement surrounding the car, but its partnership with BMW took the edge off. Now, though, Toyota seems to be working on a more powerful 400hp version over the 335hp of the GR, while also adding two more letters to its model designation. The Supra GRMN is said to be coming by Japanese website Best Car Web, but we don’t know what it will look like or when it will be.

It will be powered by the 3.0-litre I6 that’s already found in the current Supra but will have an increase in power as explained. This new model may also be lighter with more carbon fibre components, more rigid, and a higher performance suspension will also be found under the wheel arches. There could also be a few exterior add-ons such as a wing and wider arches, and maybe the air intakes that are blocked on the current model will be opened up. With Toyota teasing a more hardcore variant, this could very well be it.

The car is expected to be released later this year, and although prices aren’t known, expect it to be more expensive than the $53,990 of the current Premium variant. We’re hoping it looks something like the Supra Toyota revealed at SEMA last year (pictured above).

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
