Chevrolet Corvette C8 Driver Almost Causes Crash With Motorcyclists

Motorcyclists are at such risk when they’re riding meaning us drivers really need to have our wits about us to make sure we don’t do anything stupid that could put anyone in harm’s way. Arguably, you need to be even more switched on if you’re driving something with more performance than the majority of other cars on the road. This C8 driver wasn’t at his best when a group of motorcyclists caught him up while on a spirited ride.

The C8 is yet to be delivered to customers, but despite this, the model has already been involved in several incidents this year. This is the latest example, when the driver of this C8 decides to come to a sudden stop to perform a U-turn.

We don’t know anything more than what we see in the clip, which was recorded by a helmet-mounted camera of one of the riders, but we can see the riders quickly approach the car on this narrow two-lane road. This was fine until the C8 driver decided to slam on the brakes in the middle of the road. This in itself isn’t technically illegal, but when the three bikes decide to go around the car, he pulls a sudden left before pulling an illegal U-turn.

The car seems to be another pre-production C8 with Michigan plates, possibly out on the road having photos/videos taken, or simply a dealership enjoying having the car for a while. But this doesn’t excuse the driver to make such a mistake. Thankfully no one was hurt, but this could have gone a lot worse if the bikers hadn’t seen it coming or were going a bit faster.

Rightly, they were annoyed by the sudden change of direction and made it known to the driver of the ‘Vette. To be honest, they were quite held back compared to what I would expect.
