5.6-Litre 16 Cylinder Made From Lada Engines – Genius Mechanics

If you want a car that will take you to hell and back, running on spicy water without objection, then your best bet is to look at Lada. But Ladas aren’t exactly known for their performance. That’s until you take four engines and force them together with a bit of Russian technical know-how to create a 5.6-litre, 16-cylinder quad-engine monster. Take a look at the video below to see what I mean.

As you can see from just the thumbnail, it’s impossible to fit the countless pistons within the small nose of a Lada, so an extension was built which included another two wheels to take the weight and length of the additional powertrain components. And to be honest, it’s not the simplest of designs. Even the front two wheels needed a custom fabricated suspension.

Due to this over-complication, the results on their first run weren’t mind blowing, but the team will return once they’ve tightened some cables and given the contraption a once over. Until then, we’ll have to make do with a half-working 16-cylinder Lada. Like we can complain…
