A90 Toyota Supra Gets A Hot Rod Drift Car Makeover

All this Toyota Supra talk is getting a bit tiring, but that was until I spotted this render of the new A90 sports car in a blisteringly cool hot rod / drift car style.

The last model of Supra, wielding the legendary 2JZ engine, is a real go-getter at the drag strip. Its engine and gearbox can hold exceptional power. And as many tuners have found out, with a bit of money and skill, the possibilities are endless. But this rendering is a whole new ball game.

The artist who placed these pixels is Yasid Oozeear, and he gained inspiration from Fredrick Aasbo’s Mk IV Supra hot rod when putting these images together. The bonnet has been torn from the chassis and a whole host of fins, spoilers and wings have been placed over the design to, I expect, increase downforce (why this much downforce is needed on a hot rod is beyond me).

Its rear wheels are cambered and the tyres are stretched, and four stubby air intakes extend from what looks to be a V8. This is not a subtle build, but subtlety is overrated.

Let us know what you’d place in the engine bay of this heavily altered machine in the comments below, and whether this is up your street or not.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
