Alfa Romeo Release Pricing For Giulia GTA And It Is Absolutely Staggering
Like many Alfa Romeo’s before it, the Giulia Quadrifoglio has earned a cult like status for its incredible handling, beautiful styling and its wondrous V6 engine. Now, Alfa have announced the European pricing for the brand new Giulia GTA and GTAm, which promises to be a much more powerful version of the fan favoured Quadrifoglio.
Now for the eye watering part, the GTA will start off at a staggering €176,500 with the GTAm coming in at an even more astounding €181,500, which puts both models not too far away from a brand new Porsche 911 Turbo S.
If you are lucky enough to have that kind of money lying around somewhere, I bet you’re wondering what you get for near enough €200k. Firstly you get a badge, yes a badge, a bit like the AMG badge on a Mercedes but this one is the revered Gran Turismo Allegerita badge (GTA) which was famously featured on the Giulia Sprint GTA coupe during the 1960’s. As well as this, you get a lighter vehicle with the extensive use of carbon fibre meaning the GTA/GTAm is at least 220 pounds lighter than the normal Giulia Quadrifoglio. You also get more power, with the 2.9 litre twin turbo V6 providing your right foot with a massive 540 horsepower taking the new models from 0-60 in at least 3.6 seconds.
In terms of the interior, swashed in Alcantara (effectively synthetic suede) on the dash, glove compartment, seats and side pillars. Matte carbon inlays also feature alongside beautiful red stitching on the steering wheel, seats and gear stick. If you choose the GTAm the main difference is you the rear seats have been ditched in favour of a roll bar.
The GTA is going to come in a number of gorgeous colours including the likes of Bianco Trofeo (or white to the rest of us), Verde Montreal (or green to us mere mortals) and Rosso GTA (or red for those of us not worthy). The vehicles can also feature different colours on the nose as well as including stripes to really emphasise your Alfa.
Given there will only be 500 GTA’s available for purchase, we’re not really surprised by the huge price tag and we’re sure these will get bought up in no time at all. Also, if you are American, it doesn’t appear like the GTA will be available in the US so sadly – you may have to admire from afar.
