An IPE Exhaust System Makes The Lamborghini Urus Scream, Pop, And Bang

The Lamborghini Urus was a bit of a shock when it was first rumoured. Lamborghini making an SUV? Surely this has all gone too far. Well, while we argue about why the Italian marque has done such a thing, let’s take a step back and ask ourselves what really makes a good Lamborghini?

It needs to be pompous, exaggerated, and bright. When it drives past, people should look at you and either detest you, or want to be you. It needs to be powerful, but not necessarily fast. It’s a car to show off with, not to hide in the corner. But above all, it needs to be loud. The stock Urus isn’t that loud with its twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, but it is more than powerful with 641bhp and 627lb ft of torque.

So to take it to the next level, IPE has given it a straight-piped competition exhaust. This means no catalytic converters, just an onslaught of loud growling accentuated with pops and bangs. And if that isn’t enough to tell others that it’s got something special hanging off the engine, then its black chrome tips may get the message across. Thankfully though, if you do get tired of being shouted at by the exhaust system of your Lambo, the original exhaust valve can still be used to tone it down when necessary.

With a VW chassis underneath the Lamborghini badges, this car is soft compared to its supercar brothers in regards to its ride and comfort, but it still packs one hell of a punch both visually, and with its performance. It’s unknown as to whether this exhaust system increases performance, but it removes 4.64kg from the stock weight of the exhaust which sits at 33.17kg.

Let us know if this would persuade you to look at the Urus more seriously. I’m not sure I’d buy it, but I certainly wouldn’t say no to a drive.
