BMW’s Upcoming 2021 M5 CS Will Dominate Their Lineup

BMW loves to put the cherry on top of their M5 sedans, by adding a special edition with the CS accolade. The current 2020 M5 CS, has a very impressive 617 horsepower. But now, with the 2021 M5 coming with a standard 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, they need to push the envelope a little further for the CS to maintain its edge.

Enter, the carbon fiber draped 2021 M5 CS, which heaves all the available power it possible could onto the standard edition. It will produce a total of 650 horsepower and up to 590 lb-ft of torque with the 4.4L V8 and its twin-turbochargers.

BMW’s engineers have not just given the M5 a new EPS tune and reworked limited-slip diff, but they’ve also added massive cooling overhead. Pairing that with new carbon fiber bodywork, including a roof made of carbon and a rear spoiler which reworks the aerodynamics while helping to reduce overall weight.

The CS will also come with high end carbon ceramic brakes that feature perforated disks. In all the Germans have removed what they can while making everything they add improve handling and performance. Cutting away at the pounds and pushing the air in all the right places.

For a premium price, easily upwards of $100k looking at this year’s model, expect to have the best BMW has to offer. These will be a limited run, but with the new badging and special designs, it’ll be well worth it.
