Bugatti Bolide Becomes The Most Beautiful Hypercar In The World At Festival Automobile International
In October 2020, the Bugatti Bolide was unveiled as a track-only weapon with a power-to-weight ratio of 0.67 kg per horsepower. The French firm launched a production version of the Bolide in August, limited to 40 cars for approximately $4.7 million each. It’s no surprise that it’s now been officially recognised as one of the best looking cars in the world.
The Bolide was chosen as the winner of the Hypercars category at the 36th Festival Automobile International in Paris, where three other worthy competitors stood beaten. Only vehicles “designed in series but marketed for more than 60,000 euros and exhibit an aggressive design and outstanding performance” were able to participate in this class.
The track monster’s shape is probably its most appealing feature. It hasn’t changed much from the experimental idea to the finished product, and it won’t in future versions. Simply said, if you’re willing to spend the heart-stopping $4.7 million on the Bolide, you’ll get virtually exactly the same vehicle as was recognized with this prestigious design award. Even after production modifications are made, Bugatti claims that the automobile will retain its low weight for an unequalled level of performance.
“Although extremely functional, the Bolide is brimming with Bugatti’s distinctive personality and tradition,” said Nils Sajonz, Bugatti Design Head of Special Projects. “Its creation was inspired by the weight-to-power philosophy of a young Ettore Bugatti, who upturned the world of motorsport in the 1920s by designing lightweight and nimble cars, such as the Type 35, that became practically unbeatable. Bolide is the ultimate culmination of that philosophy, pure in its design and its purpose.”
The Audi Q4 E-Tron Sportback was dubbed the most beautiful showcar during the Paris motor show, while the DS Aero Sport Lounge was named the most beautiful concept vehicle. The Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR also won in the futuristic car category, and the Maserati MC20 took home honors for being the world’s most gorgeous supercar.
It’s safe to say that the Bolide was in the middle of some sterling metal, meaning this was a serious triumph.
