Christian Von Koenigsegg Gives Us First Look At 1,700HP Gemera Hypercar
The Koenigsegg YouTube channel has released a video revealing the first prototype of the now legendary Gemera, and CEO and owner Christian von Koenigsegg takes us for a quick spin in the innovative new hypercar.
He firstly introduces the video and the three cars sat behind him.
“Hi, everyone. What a beautiful day at the Koenigsegg test track,” he says.
“Behind me. We have the first driving Gemera prototype with all systems on board. Also we have the first test Jesko prototype. That happened to be out here today, and the first Regera test prototypes. So this is really the day of the prototypes, but the focus here today is the four-seater Gemera.
The Gemera is the first four-seater car to come out of the Swedish supercar company and is expected to produce 1,700bhp and 3500Nm of torque on its release thanks to a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 2.0-litre three-cylinder engine – which alone produces 600 horsepower – and a 16.6kWh battery pack with three electric motors. 0-60mph is said to come in as little as 1.9 seconds, all while taking your three kids to school on a Monday morning.
Now, we’ve been given our first look at what it’s like to drive one of these menacing machines.
“Normally, we only have two seats in our other car, of course, it’s a bit of a time saver,” Christian tells. us.
“Of course the technology in this car is other worldly. It’s never-seen-before technology put together with a tiny friendly, giant engine with all its uniqueness and special features and functions, the quirky motors, the David inverter, coming together to create this four wheel drive four wheel torque vectoring power monster, but a friendly monster.”
“I mean, it’s so easy and fun to drive. And it just gives this unique experience that I’ve never experienced before.”
Christian goes on to say that the car is still in its “development phase” with the team still working on tuning the engine. But despite this it’s a “wonderful space to be in”, according to the CEO.
” it’s so exciting to be driving this dream around. Just an amazing experience.”.
