First Look At Lotus’ All-Electric Sports Car – The Type-130

We haven’t heard from Lotus for a while, have we? In fact, it’s been over a decade since the company last released a new model. This long wait is about to come to an end, however, as Lotus has just teased the release of their next, and game-changing new vehicle.

It’s called the Type-130, representing the 130 ‘Types’ Lotus has built throughout its 71-year history, and it’s all-electric. That’s right, the company known for their lightweight drivers’ cars is taking a strong leap forward into the all-electric industry, and it’s making quite an imprint on Lotus enthusiasts.

Only 130 will be built, but already several hundred potential customers have put their name forward with an interest in the car that’s going to be built at Hethel in Norfolk where the brand has been situated since 1966. According to Lotus, the Type-130 is going to be the most dynamically accomplished road car in the brand’s history, and have possible tie ins within motorsport, too.

The full car will be revealed in London later this month – we can’t wait!

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
