Ghostbusters: Afterlife Trailer Brings Back The Legendary Ecto-1 Cadillac
Ghostbusters returns. No, not that awful one that was full of bad actors and cameos, the real Ghostbusters. But this takes place years after the original films, and because of this, life has moved on. But as ghosts start to pop up around the main characters, Callie (Carrie Coon), a single parent, and her two children Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) and Travis (Finn Wolfhard), we see one of the film’s favourite parts come back to the screen.
Found in a barn under a forgotten blanket, the Ecto-1 Cadillac has sat there for years gathering dust, and boy does it look magnificent with its patina. The characters know that the house they’re staying in was once owned by original Ghostbuster Dr. Egon Spengler, played originally by Harold Ramis, so it’s not surprise that they find all the toys that were used in the original films. And hey, what a coincidence, because Summerville is just at this moment succumbing to ghosts.
The kids who find the car explore its endless features such as a gunner seat and sirens for hunting (or busting) ghosts, and I’m sorry, but my arm hair stood up on end when I watched the clip of them burning rubber as the car tears up the road chasing one.
For me, this car is up there with the DeLorean with its iconic white walls and Ghostbusters logo on the side. And who better to bring it back than the original director from the first Ghostbusters film’s son, Jason Reitman. Alongside Jason, we’ll be seeing some recognisable faces, too. Paul Rudd, Sigourney Weaver, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and many more will bring this movie to life when it hits cinemas the Summer of 2020.
This is going to be a real hit. Wish I could find a barn find as good as that.
