GMC Yukon Gets Destroyed After Running Lights At Railway Crossing In Centralia, Illinois

Come on, guys. This is life, not an episode of The Grand Tour. If you pull up to a railway crossing and see that the lights are flashing and gates are going down, don’t risk your life trying to beat the train. Regardless of how fast your car is or whether you’re wearing a high-vis or not, one day something very bad is going to happen. Yesterday, something very bad happened to the driver of this GMC Yukon, when they decided to do just that.

The video was shot in Centralia, Illinois, and shows the driver of this Yukon driving straight into the path of an oncoming train. But before the video actually begins, the uploader describes just what happened to cause this horrific incident.

According to the uploader who was there to record a pair of Canadian National trains, the Yukon was the second car in line waiting for the train to pass. The first one heading southbound goes past, and not realising a second was on its way, the Yukon driver turns up their music and accelerates past the first car in line. If you look closely at the video, the Yukon driver sees the northbound train just before they cross, but still decides to pelt it through the crossing with a slight change in direction. Of course, this ends badly.

The Yukon was obliterated, but as a testament to the safety of the car, the driver miraculously survived. It’s safe to say they were very lucky.
