Gran Turismo 7: Behind The Scenes Video Reveals The Legends Behind The Game
We’re already looking forward to a brand new version of the Gran Turismo series, which should drop in March 2022. The first in-game teasers included stunning visuals and a wide range of customization choices, but now a new video now takes us behind the scenes of the game itself.
The video, titled The Starting Line, is only 1:50 minutes long and features a short interview with Kazunori Yamauchi, the CEO of Polyphony Digital and maker of the Gran Turismo series. In this video, Yamauichi discusses how car culture has influenced him, and how it paved the way for the upcoming Gran Turismo 7.
“The breadth of automotive culture is very broad. I think the car is one of the most beautiful industrial products. The appreciation for the beauty of their shapes is car culture. But the car is also made to be driven by a person. Controlling these high-performance machines that far exceed human limits is another part of the car culture,” he tells us.
The game’s lead designer, Kaz, also gives us his insight into the decisions behind Gran Turismo. He’s the one that decides many key elements of the Gran Turismo game, and being a professional racing driver himself, we don’t doubt his reasoning whatsoever. He offers incredibly input to the game from someone who knows exactly what the target market wants. He has, after all, been there first hand.
“I really think that car culture is a very multi-faceted thing. Gran Turismo 7 is a comprehensive title and there are many different ways to play. Whether you drive fast, collect cars, design liveries in the editor, or take photos, all of these are elements of your ‘life with cars’.”
We are so excited to get behind the wheel of Gran Turismo 7 when it’s released on March 4, 2022. Who else will be joining us?
