Hero Sticks A Viper V10 In A Chrysler PT Cruiser

The Chrysler PT Cruiser is one of the most disrespected cars… in the world. But has someone found a way to actually make it a, dare I say it, good car? I suppose you’ll have to make your own opinions on this, but I love the fact that these guys are breaking the ‘rules’ and making something quite bad, into something different. Surely that can’t be a bad thing?

This isn’t a standard PT Cruiser as I’m sure you can see. Under the hood sits an 8.3-litre V10 straight from the track legend that is the Viper, and therefore, this once mundane car now produces 500bhp.

Alongside the wicked power figures, it’s been converted into a pickup and given side-exit exhausts – just for the drama (and the incredible sound). Of course it couldn’t end there. It’s been lowered and given some fancy wheels to top off the look.

So what other boring and dim cars would you whack a great, powerful engine in? Personally, I’d love to put something stupidly powerful in a Prius. Rip everything else out like the batteries and interior, and make the ultimate track ready Prius. Maybe an LS for reliability and ease? Or maybe something ore Toyota centred like a 2JZ.

Let me know your ideas in the comments!

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]

  1. I know one of the more creative swaps already happened in a Prius. It was a Hellcat powered Prius.
