Koenigsegg Jesko First Test Drive On The Road Of The 300MPH+ Hypercar

The long-awaited Koenigsegg Jesko is nearing its official release each day, and while last time we were able to show you the sound of its mighty 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and exhaust, this time we can show you the Swedish hypercar taking to the road.

It’s safe to say that this 300mph capable car sounds like something only the devil himself should be able to pilot, with a deep and menacing exhaust note accented with aggressive crackling on deceleration. The video is only short, but it gives us a perfect impression of what it looks like on the road.

It’s low, with its rear wing sat high in an exposed, high downforce position. Its twin-turbos hiss loudly, teasing at the performance that sits behind the driver and boy, it has some real numbers on the spec sheet.

It produces 1,262bhp on 95 octane fuel, with 1,578bhp and 1,106lb ft of torque on E85. That’s so much power, that Koenigsegg had to build their own gearbox to transmit it to the wheels. They’ve dubbed the Light Speed Gearbox – more than likely because it’s going to be pretty fast.

For a pure, unadulterated look at the car’s exhaust note, watch the video below:

Will Bugatti be able to maintain its 304.77mph lead? Only time will tell, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated on the Jesko’s production.
