Lada Niva gets Lowrider Treatment from Genius Russians – Crazy yet Brilliant

The Lada Niva is, of course, a highly respected vehicle for the fact it’s changed less than the Porsche 911 in its long life of over 40 years. It’s great at what it does, even if what it does isn’t that much. What it certainly doesn’t do it wow people at your local McDonald’s car meet, so a group of Russians saw to that.

This 4×4 has gone through hasn’t just had a handful of lowering springs thrown at it, its Russian builders proudly describe it as the lowest Lada Niva in the word. Their YouTube channel, Iling Show produces videos on building custom cars from old and rusty carcasses, with their latest project being this Lada. It took plenty of work to transform the thing into the latest example of a lowrider, but it has been done. And rather excellently I must add.

With the body cut so the wheels can be pushed upwards into the main bulk of the car, this car has almost no ground clearance whatsoever. In fact, it’s so low that the rear wheels are visible from inside the ca, and the front wheels pierce the top of the bonnet. I have a feeling it wouldn’t pass health and safety in a country over this neck of the woods.

Because of this, the engine sits higher and is now visible from outside the car, and the exhaust has been rooted through the side fender instead of underneath the car. It’s also had al of its glass removed for… weight saving?

We love this kind of Russian madness, and thankfully we’re seeing more and more of it as Russia is starting to build its YouTube community. stay safe Russia, but please don’t stop!

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
