Listen To The 300MPH Koenigsegg Jesko’s Brutal Exhaust Note

The Koenigsegg Jesko will be a 300mph car according to the Swedish manufacturer. Named after CEO Christian Von Koenigsegg’s father, the Jesko will be powered by the 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 from the Agera with only a few differences.

This engine will feature a flat plane crank that’s been lightened by 5kg over the older 90 degree Agera version, and Christian noted that because of this, it will have a substantially different exhaust note. It has adaptive rubber engine mounts, too, and thanks to a 20-litre carbon tank that fires jets of air into the turbos at 20 bar, they spool up much faster than most.

This engine will produce 1,262bhp with 95 octane unleaded, and 1,578bhp and 1106lb ft of torque if you use E85 biofuel – as far as I know, this is the first time a Koenigsegg has allowed for this option of fuel. The gearbox is made in-house, too, because they couldn’t find one that would hold such a large amount of power. It’s a 9-speed multi-clutch automatic that they’ve dubbed the Light Speed Gearbox, probably because it’s pretty fast.

Anyway, enough numbers and fancy marketing jargon, let’s hear the car. The video below was uploaded by LAOC Exotics.

Compare that to the sound of the Koenigsegg Agera below and you’ll realise the Jesko sounds a lot more aggressive than the Agera’s exhaust note. This may be due to the microphone recording the video linked above, but let us know what you think in the comments. Which do you prefer?

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
