Nissan GT-R Wrecked In High Speed Drag Race

It’s true Nissan GT-Rs aren’t exactly hard to come by, but this drag-ready monster was one hell of a special car. As you can see from the video, it hit 194mph during the FL2K19 races with a time of just 11.03 seconds on its first time, then later achieves a 10.441 second run at a speed of 199.46mph. It’s the fastest car on the track by a lot.

Its modifications definitely include nitrous thanks to the driver showing off the purging system, but during the third run against 2,300hp Dodge Viper, it looks like the rear wheel blows and the car veers off to the right of the track narrowly missing the other driver. With the front bumper ripped off and the engine smoking, it’s not going to be a quick repair. Thankfully, according to the video description, the driver was unharmed.

A high speed wreck is never a nice thing to be involved in but thankfully the safety features of the car lived up to the scenario and helped the lucky SOB survive that awful three-figure speed crash.

The accident takes place at around 6:00 on the video, but the whole thing is well worth a watch as the pinnacle of built-not-bought vehicles take to the track in pure tyre-ripping racing. There are Skylines, S2000s, Supras… pretty much everything us petrol heads need to get our heart beating hard. Let us know what you’d take to the drags if money was no option below.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
