Police-spec Dodge Charger Receives 1,500bhp, AWD, And Carbon Fibre Widebody
The brilliant minds at Speedkore, alongside Magnaflow and GP Tuners, have come up with this bats**t crazy Dodge Charger that’s based on a police cruiser. We doubt it’s going back into police work since the upgrades, but if it did, car chases would be over very quickly.
First on the list was the bodywork, so the American tuning company scanned in a widebodied Charger Hellcat, and from this design, produced their own carbon fibre version. As you can tell from the photos, it’s rather impressive.
Next was power (obviously), so the old police car-spec 364bhp 5.7-litre V8was ripped out and replaced with the Demon’s 6.2-litre V8 unit. But apparently 828bhp isn’t enough for these guys, so they ripped out the supercharger and strapped in a pair of Precision 6466 ball-bearing billet turbochargers. Obviously, the engine needed some help with these so a larger, custom intake plenum, triple-pump fuel system, more capable 1700cc injectors and reinforced internals were all added to aid the turbos.
On E85 and at 26 psi of boost, it made 1301bhp and 1073lb ft of torque to the wheels, and over 1500bhp to the crank. This was too much for just the rear wheels to handle so in went an AWD system alongside a reinforced transmission, custom billet transfer case, FTI torque converter, and a carbon driveshaft.
To help it sound the part and to release gasses quickly, Magnaflow fitted a high-performance exhaust system that offers an unrestricted front bumper exit for the dragstrip, and a rear exit for the road. 305-section Mickey Thompson ET tyres wrap around 17-inch Bogart Competition Series wheels for ultimate traction.
A price hasn’t been given for this one-off creation, but I don’t think it was cheap…
