Rimac C_Two – “Absolutely Everything Has Changed” For Production Version

The Rimac C_Two will be coming to the Geneva Motor Show early next month, so in order to create the required buzz, CEO Mate Rimac has taken to YouTube to explain just how the concept car they revealed almost two years ago.

In a ten minute video, Mate discusses exactly what changes have been made since the original concept, and it turns out there’s a lot of them. In fact, every single aspect of the car has been improved. He admits that even when the concept finished being built it was at least 6 months behind development. “Absolutely everything has changed,” he says.

He explains how a number of aesthetic pieces on the car like its headlights were only placed on the concept while the real deal parts were being made behind the scenes, and that a number of body panels have changed to improve aerodynamics, adhere to regulations, aid in cooling, and to house technology like a radar at the rear. The wheels will also be different, with a number of Rimac-own designs being available on release. The rear of the car has completely changed, too, in a bid to further improve aerodynamics, and those stick-on exhaust pipes (unfortunately) won’t be available on the real thing.

Looking through the rear glass, you’ll find a host of computers and other hardware on the concept. For the production car, this has been miniaturised by 80-90% to allow for more storage. The interior will see a complete overhaul, too, including the addition of screens, machined aluminium switches and buttons, and a new steering wheel. Plus, a group of cameras will be integrated into the cockpit to not only be used for autonomous driving, but to monitor your body language, too.

We’re extremely excited to see what Rimac has in store for us this March when the car is not only revealed, but revealed under a new name.
