Russia Has Built Their Own Tesla Cybertruck From A UAZ

Russia is an interesting country to say the least. For one, Lada is still producing cars with no airbags, no traction control systems… it’s safe to say they wouldn’t pass a safety test in the UK. But that’s why we love you Russia, for your crazy driving and immense engineering, don’t go changing on us.

Garage54 on YouTube is an example of precisely this. They make crazy builds and do hilarious,l brilliant things to push cars to the next level. now, they’ve made their own version of the Cybertruck, And y’know what? It’s looking pretty good.

With a concrete-covered UAZ as a starting point (you see what I mean about crazy?) they use hammers and chisels to remove the out layers and break it down to its chassis. They remove the unwanted bits of body, and using girders, elongate the wheel base (and prop-shaft) and make the general outline of Tesla’s iconic all-electric pickup.

A set of off-road tyres and new black wheels were strapped on, and in the next video below, they create the custom metal body for the vehicle. The video is only available in Russian at the moment, but as you can see, the track has been widened, the 4×4 capabilities maintained, and it has correctly shaped glass. There’s obviously a lot of time, money, sweat and blood in this build, and we applaud the guys at Garage54 for this project.

Of course, unlike the real Cybertruck, it hasn’t got the front or rear LEDs, and it has no cargo bed at the back. But who cares? It looks mean, and I can’t wait to see what else they do with the Russian 4×4 turned Silicone Valley machine.
