The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Is Getting More Expensive
The new mid-engined makeover has lifted the Chevrolet Corvette from a legendary sports car into the supercar market, and since then has been marked as a performance bargain when it launched in 2020 at a price of just $59,995. Now, GM is increasing the price of their coveted supercar by $1,000 starting March 1st.
Motor1 was able to get the downlow on the increase in price, and while they confirmed it with Chevrolet, they’re yet to hear why. They told Motor1 the following:
“The MSRP of the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible at all trim levels will increase by $1,000 beginning March 1. Customers who have event code 1100 sold orders and beyond by March 2 will not be impacted by the price increase on the 2021 Corvette Stingray. We monitor and adjust pricing on all our products regularly, and we’re confident the Corvette remains a winning formula of performance and attainability.”
While an increase of $1,000 doesn’t sound like a lot, it does push the Corvette into the $60,000s. Even this however isn’t such a huge change for customers who, according to sales figures, want the 3LT variant that starts at over $70,000.
Chevrolet has however confirmed that each model will be getting a price hike of the same amount, increasing the price of the 3LT to $72,945. Convertible models will also be going up in price.
