The 2021 Toyota Supra Gets A Boost In Power + Whole New Turbo 4 Cylinder Variant

The Toyota Supra is already getting an upgrade for the 2021 model year with all 6-cylinder versions getting an increase of power to 382bhp according to The JDM Daily. The Japanese company has also revealed a new 4-cylinder turbocharged version, and on top of that, a GT4 race car.

With 47bhp over the 2020 version, these new cars will accelerate to 60mph in just 3.9 seconds. An A91 Special Edition version will also come with a host of other upgrades such as additional carbon fibre trim and black leather and Alcantara interior with blue highlights. The suspension has also had a going over with it being tuned for an even sportier ride and more rigid chassis. Only 1,000 of these will be built.

The four-cylinder version now sports the badge of GR Supra 2.0. It produces 255hp and 295ft lbs of torque, and thanks to a lighter engine, it has a 50:50 weight distribution for more agility. 0-60mph measures in at 5 seconds on the dot.

The last reveal from the marque is its GT4 racecar that will be aiming to race as early as next year in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Series. It’s cheap for a specialised racecar at a price of a smidge under $200,000. Power output is 430bhp and thanks to it weighing only 3,000lbs, it’s going to be one hell of a mover. Further performance figures are yet to be released.

  1. Wack… Make your own car. The old Supra was an amazing Toyota. A BMW is the last thing a JDM enthusiast wants.
