This 1971 Datsun 240Z Just Sold For $310,000 On Bring a Trailer

The perfect 1971 Datsun 240Z has just been purchased from Bring A Trailer for a whopping $310,000 according to The JDM Daily. With only 21,750 on it and perfect mechanicals, this car is possibly the most perfect example of the Japanese sports car you’ll ever find.

It was originally bought new by a Datsun dealer owner, James Munson, who gifted it to his son shortly after the purchase. There it stayed wrapped up in the dealer showroom and later on the son’s garage before he died in May last year. As you can tell from the mileage, it was bearly driven.

The original 2.4-litre straight-6 sits under the bonnet shining from a recent detail before it was sold on Bring a Trailer. It’s likely, thanks to the quality of the car, it still retains plenty of its original 151 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque. This power is pushed through a four-speed manual gearbox where it makes its way to the rear wheels.

The paintwork is a brilliant racing green, and after the detail still measures in at 2-5mm of paint depth. The interior is coated in floods of brown leather, making this car extremely sought after.

The seller of the car received it last December where they gave it a full detail and service, including an oil change, adjusting the carburettors, replacing the fuel filter, and gapping the spark plugs. Finally, the car was given 175-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres to replace the old and tired original rubber.
