This Custom ’68 Supercharged Mustang ‘Villain’ Has 770 Mean Horsepower

This week has already been full of Ford news with the original Bullitt Mustang becoming the most expensive Mustang to ever be sold, and Ford VS Ferrari has been nominated for an Oscar. And now, to top off the day, Classic Recreations has revealed their horribly intimidating restomod of a 1968 Ford Mustang. It’s no surprise they’ve named it Villain, as it looks like it would run you off the road at any chance it got.

The team started with the body, where they rounded the edges and fashioned a number of carbon fibre accents and composite panels. These new curves add plenty of aggression, more downforce producing wings, and remove excess weight. A bit of extra fat around the wheels makes the Mustang look wider, and a matte black and red decal set adds the final cherry on top to perfect its look.

Under the bonnet is where the real fun begins. A supercharged Ford 5.0-liter Coyote V8 produces 770 all-American horsepower. This is shovelled through Tremec six-speed manual transmission to the rear Forgeline wheels that are wrapped in BF Goodrich rubber. An option for a more manageable 475bhp is available via a naturally aspirated version of the Coyote, but this will all depend on the size of your knackers.

Of course, a car with so much power needs to match that performance in the corners, so both the front and rear subframes have been replaced with Detroit Speed aluminum subframes and a Quadralink four-link coilover suspension. Tucked behind those large black wheels are 14-inch rotors and 6-piston Wilwood brakes, because it will need to come to a stop just as fast as it gets going.

Inside is equally as outstanding as the exterior with Procar Evolution suspension seats, five-point harnesses, and a leather Sparco steering wheel. It also features a limited amount of creature comforts, mainly revolving around the JVC audio system and accompanying Kicker speakers and subwoofer. I’d rather listen to the screaming V8, but each to their own.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
