This Jaguar E-Type Just Got A Modern Makeover With 6.1-Litre V12
Jaguar have a habit of making very good looking cars. Let’s just ignore that awkward moment during the X and S-Type, and focus on the F-Type, E-Type, and well, just about every other Jaguar from classic to new. Unfortunately, the classic Jaaaaags don’t perform too well. But why would that stop you from changing that?
Enter E-Type UK, a specialist firm that focusses on, you guessed it, E-Types, with their latest example being the most downright badass looking E on the road. And at the same time, boasting some very credible performance figures.
They’ve put over 3000 hours of work into restomodding this car. They’ve added heated seats from an XJS, LED lighting inside and out, as well as more creature comfort tech such as an engine start button and A/C.
But the fun starts when you lift the bonnet and you’re being stared at by a 6.1-litre V12 with Jenvy throttle bodies, an Emerald ECU, and electronic fuel injection. Despite how good that all sounds, it still only creates 284hp. Although that’s still plenty of power to not only make it shift, but to make it sound like a lion stepping on Lego pieces.
As you can see, they didn’t stop there. The suspension has been addled, as has the transmission. All equalling a price of £150,000-£200,000. Not bad if you think about it, but what else can you get for that money?
Gee… all that gorgeousness and less HP than a Focus RS? A lot less…
