This Rolls Royce Scale Model Replica Has More Detail Than Your Actual Car

The Rolls Royce Cullinan is the first ever SUV by the luxury automaker and it helped pave the way for the British company to record breaking sales last year.

Rolls Royce aren’t known for making petite cars but this is probably as far away as you can possibly get measuring a whopping 210 inches long, 85 inches wide (including the mirrors) and 72 inches high.. the wheelbase itself is a staggering 130 inches long too.

However, if you would prefer to have a much more dainty Rolls, you may be in luck – the only problem is, you won’t be able to drive it. Not unless you are ‘Stuart Little’ or featured in the film ‘The Borrowers’, as Rolls Royce is now offering its discerning client base 1:18 scale models of the Cullinan.

The miniature Cullinan’s are produced with painstaking detail and accuracy with each one being crafted by hand to exacting specifications set by each client. Each Cullinan is built using over 1,000 components and can take up to 450 hours to complete – bearing in mind that the usual sized Cullinan takes around 900 hours to complete, it gives you an idea of just how much effort goes into the replica model.

Every mini Cullinan is hand-painted before being hand polished to exacting specifications set by Rolls Royce. The coachline is even applied using a fine (and very expensive) brush, just like on the real Cullinan. Customers have over 40,000 colours available as standard to choose whatever colour and shade they could possible want for their tiny 4×4, but if you still can’t find the colour you’re looking for, Rolls Royce can naturally replicate a bespoke finish for you.

Also included in the replica model are working exterior lights controlled by your very own Cullinan branded remote control and there is also a full scale replica of the SUV’s 6.75 litre twin turbo V12 engine under the bonnet. Even opening the doors activates an illuminated tread-plate and the interior has been replicated to an excruciating amount of detail, with the headrests featuring the same embroidery as its big brother as well as seat piping, wood finishes and stitching also being replicated to perfection.

But wait, theres more. The mini Rolls Royce Cullinan comes with a 39 inch long display case, set on a gloss black base and mounted on a plinth (how very Rolls). While Rolls Royce haven’t actually announced how much the 1:18 scale replica costs, we should imagine it’ll be pretty substantial and will most likely cost more than most brand new cars.

Torsten Müller-Otvos, the Chief Executive of Rolls Royce Motor Cars said of the mini Cullinan:

“This scale replica brings a new dimension to Cullinan’s Effortless, Everywhere philosophy. Our super-luxury SUV is now as perfectly at ease in the serene surroundings of its owner’s residence as it is in the most challenging and hostile terrain on Earth, it demonstrates, and reminds us as a company, that Inspiring Greatness applies at every scale. It is not just about the big things: we seek and achieve greatness in everything we do, down to the smallest item and minutest detail.”

A really cool thing to have on your book shelf sure, but I think if it was my money… I’d rather buy an actual car.
