This Toyota Yaris GR Body Kit By TOM’S Is Possibly The Most Impressive Yet

The new Toyota GR Yaris has been catching the eye of many hot-hatch lovers since its release near the end of 2020 and now tuning companies are getting their hands on the rally-inspired pocket-rocket and the tuning options are flooding in.

Litchfield, among other tuning outfits, have impressively pushed the already nippy 1.6-litre, three cylinder engine above 300bhp. It doesn’t stop there, with engine and other suspension upgrades coming soon but there also with plenty of body kits coming from the likes of Pandem, GR Parts and TOM’S.

Previous TOM’S body kits you will have seen have include the amazing GR Supra kit, and while we usually see these revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon, due to obvious Covid-19 reasons, the GR Yaris will not be revealed that way, not that this has stopped them showing off their striking yet subtle creation. Instead, they uncovered the new body kit at the weekend during their TOM’S Salon live stream with Takamoto Katsuta, Toyota factory WRC driver, presenting all the details of the new product.

Whilst Katsuta explained there will still be some further changes, the current body kit includes many upgrades. The first three things that we noticed are the significant drop in rideheight which eliminates the large arch gaps, the large rear wing and the Rays G025 alloy wheels. TOM’S have also kept the stock bumpers but have added a new splitter and canards. The upgrade of a TOM’S tailpipe from the standard twin-exit design has also not been missed. Finally, we cannot forget the addition of bigger Endless brakes, carbon fibre trim and Recaro bucket seats.
