Toyota Supra and Tesla Model 3 Make It Into Top 10 Best Cars List For 2020

Consumer Reports (CR) just announced their top 10 list for the 2020 best new cars. When factoring in their best picks, CR notes that vehicles chosen for these have the highest ratings in their categories, which includes road tests, safety features, reliability, and satisfaction ratings from owners and buyers.

This year, to be eligible for the Top Pick award from CR, all vehicles had to have forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking systems, which includes pedestrian detection, a first for this year. CR broke down the rankings by price range.

Here are the top 10 picks for 2020:

  • Under $25,000 (Toyota Corolla)
  • $25,000 – $35,000 (Subaru Forester, Toyota Prius, Subaru Legacy)
  • $35,000 – $45,000 (Toyota Avalon, Kia Telluride, Honda Ridgeline)
  • $45,000 – $55,000 (Lexus RX, Toyota Supra, Tesla Model 3)

While none of these picks are all too surprising, it is worthy to note that Toyota claimed 5 of the 10 spots, one of which includes their Lexus luxury brand. The Toyota Corolla, Avalon, Prius, and Lexus RX have been out for some time now, but the Supra is a newcomer for this year.

Another noteworthy newcomer is the Kia Telluride, which has been flying off showroom floors nearly as fast as Kia dealers can get them. Kia dealers even refer to them as the “Sell-U-Ride,” due to their popularity. If you are looking for a new ride this year, go out and pick up one of these top 10 to increase your odds of a good purchase.
