Watch The New Nissan NP300 Fail Its Crash Test Horrifically

The NP300 became one of the most discussed Nissans of 2018 when it failed its crash test so badly it didn’t even get awarded one star. Despite this, it’s still being produced from Nissan’s Rosslyn factory, barely changed from its original guise as a first-gen Navara from 1997. The Automobile Association of South Africa anted to test just how bad it was, so set up a head-on collision with the latest-generation Navara currently built in Spain.

With the results not being so good, the testers decided that the driver of the NP300 “would have likely sustained fatal injuries”. In comparison, the driver of the Navara “would have likely walked away from the crash.”

Nissan will now be upgrading their Rosslyn factory to build the new 2020 Nevara. It’s going to cost three billion ZAR ($200 million), but unfortunately, this won’t put a stop to the awfully dangerous NP300.

The reason behind this test was to prove that just because a car is new, doesn’t mean it’s safe. So if you’re thinking about buying a new car… don’t make it an NP300. Buy a Toyota Hilux instead.
