What Do You Think Of This Mid-Engined Ford Mustang?

With the new Corvette C8 Stingray adopting a mid-engined layout and blowing our minds with high performance for low bucks, we shouldn’t be surprised if other manufacturers start to do similar things with their halo cars.

But before they’ve had a chance, Sketchmonkey beat them to it with his illustration of a mid-engined Mustang hitting his YouTube channel. Is it just me, or does it look like an Audi TT?

This isn’t the first redesign Sketchmoney has done, covering cars such as the I-Pace, DeLorean, and the Nissan 300ZX previously, but while his work usually improves the look of the car he’s modifying, this Mustang doesn’t look so good.

Like I mentioned before, with the cockpit pushed forward to accommodate a mid-engined layout, it does have a very TT-esque look to it. And this hint of the hairdressers car in America’s sweetheart pony car surely wouldn’t go down overly well.

It’s almost reminiscent of the Peugeot RCZ – the French manufacturer’s attempt at a modern mid-engined sports car. This was a tremendous failure and was quickly taken out of production. I think you may agree, the mid-engined Mustang you see above shouldn’t get close to a dealership. The Blue Oval should be more than happy with their new Shelby GT500, now that’s going to be a real killer.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
