Latest Batman Trailer Gives Us The Batmobile Action We’ve Been Wanting

A new Batman film is on the way, with DC Films, 6th & Idaho Motion Picture Company, and Dylan Clark Productions working on a reboot of the Batman film series. In this upcoming film starring Robert Patterson, Batman is born and fights corruption in Gotham City while hunting a serial killer known as The Riddler. Of course, Batman has his fair share of tech, with the Batmobile being the most famous part of his arsenal.

Now, a new trailer has been released, giving us an insight into the plot, the villains, and the overall feel of the film. But what we really wanted to see was the new Batmobile, while seems to be based on an old American muscle car – likely something Dodge related. We get to see it a lot more in this trailer.

A new Lego set which we featured earlier this month, has provided us with a closer look at the new Batmobile, but this in-movie footage better depicts the real car. It has some characteristics of a Chevrolet Camaro stretched out, to some extent, yet there are clear references from the muscle vehicle scene from the 1960s and 1970s. From certain angles, we also notice Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang influences.

The Batmobile’s back end, on the other hand, appears to be similar to that of the 1989 Batmobile, with a jet of flame shooting out of the back. The tail isn’t as retrolooking as the front end, but the designers did an excellent job integrating both design languages into a single cohesive look.

Robert Pattinson portrays the Dark Knight in the latest Batman film. The film’s release was delayed owing to the coronavirus, which had been set for March 2022. Zoë Kravitz appears as Catwoman, Paul Dano plays the Riddler, and Colin Farrell is Penguin in the cast.
