Listen To This Hennessey C8 Corvette Exhaust That Adds 20HP Over The Stock Setup

The stock Corvette C8 has a pretty impressive naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 engine, which outputs 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. However, the mad scientists over at Hennessey weren’t quite satisfied with the car’s exhaust, after testing the C8 on a dyno, and finding it only delivered 436.9 horsepower and 414 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.

The company decided that redoing the exhaust could regain some of those lost horses, and they were correct about that.

They added an all stainless steel alternative to the stock setup, which not only made the Corvette sound much better, but also reduced the weight of the car and increased its horsepower by 20! Hennessey than hooked the C8 up to the dyno once again, and recorded the results to share.

We designed a new stainless-steel exhaust system for the C8 that slightly increases power (20 hp), improves sound and is lighter by around 12 pounds,” company founder John Hennessey recently said. “We’ve been doing some validation testing and thought that a run over 200-mph would be the ultimate test of performance and durability for our new exhaust system. We also installed a Nitrous Oxide system to bump power to around 650 HP. We are very pleased with the results and we will be releasing our C8 exhaust upgrade in the very near future.

Now, they did add nitrous to the car, which made a much larger power difference than the exhaust. However, the exhaust alone is still pretty sweet.

Hennessey is charging $3495 for this exhaust system, but the first 100 orders will get $500 off, which is quite the bargain for something of this quality.
