Nissan CEO Takes Z Proto Out On Track In Recent Video – “Fantastic”

After the initial reveal of the next evolution of the Z sports car, everything went very quiet and it’s been this way for about a month now. The Z Proto looked ready for customers to drive onto the open road, but Nissan is apparently still working on finalising the car. This comes as no surprise when we found it was simply a 370Z under the new body shape.

But now a video from the marque has been released showing the CEO behind the wheel of the new Japanese sports car, and he, thankfully, is very pleased with what they’ve so far accomplished.

“Fantastic,” he says climbing out of the car. “I really enjoyed it. It’s perfect.”

These – possibly biased – words come as no surprise from the CEO of Nissan, but with it still a couple of years away from release, we’re sure there are plenty of changes that are yet to be revealed, something that Uchida “cannot wait to see.”

The Nissan Z Proto breathes a breath of fresh air into the aging model, with the 370Z now around 11 years old and showing its cracks. The new Z will look back on the previous models and include retro styling from both the 240Z and 300ZX, but this time with a twin-turbo V6 producing 400 horsepower.

We’ll know more as we edge closer to the release date of the new Z, which currently sits towards the end of 2022.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
