The Batman: New Batmobile Revealed Driven By Actor Robert Pattinson

It was revealed a couple of months back that Robert Pattinson, famous for his role in the Twilight series of films and Harry Potter, is playing Batman in the new DC film directed by Matt Reeves. Today, the new Batmobile has been revealed, and it’s not quite like any of the others.

Reeves tweeted a number of photos of the caped crusader next to his new trust car. It’s some kind of American muscle car, maybe a Baracude, and it’s mid-engined, with what looks to be a 90-degree V10 engine mounted behind the seats. Obviously, it’s painted in black and has wide rear wheel arches reminiscent of the Batmobiles of old, and while it looks aggressive as hell, I’m not sure it’s going to be creating quite as much damage as Nolan’s tank-like Tumbler.

Jalopnik wonders if the V10 is a Ford Triton, in which case it wouldn’t be overly powerful with most variations producing between 300-400bhp, but spares are readily available and it’s a proven workhorse. Look closer, though, and it looks there are turbos mounted either side of the powerplant. Yes, that would do just fine.

I love it. From what I’ve picked up, the film documents the very beginning of the Batman saga with good ol’ Bruce working out how to achieve peace in his city. This car reflects that, with it looking like it was thrown together quickly by someone who hasn’t the skills yet to make the type of Batmobile we’d usually expect.

This has got me really excited for the new film, and look forward to learning more about it as we edge closer to its release.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
