The Hyundai Palisade N Could Be On Its Way After April Fools Joke Gets Overwhelming Response
April Fools’ Day wasn’t overly mischievous this year, especially in the automotive industry – likely due to the world handling the COVID-19 outbreak. Hyundai however, decided to provide us with some entertainment in the form of their N Division sharing two renderings that will almost definitely not reach the production line. The rendering depicted what a new Hyundai Palisade N and a Neco N could look like – sporting the same shade of Performance Blue with red accenting as well as a rear spoiler and other, quite frankly aggressive bodywork additions.
As mentioned, this was meant to be a bit of fun on April Fools’ Day, but as you can imagine, many a Hyundai fan is hoping that the Palisade N will actually go into production.. so much so, that there is now a petition.
Is this great marketing from Hyundai, or a complete surprise to the automotive maker? Who knows.
The petition posted to Change.org is titled simply as, “Get Hyundai to Produce the Palisade N“. The description of said petition is as follows:
In a world where every car is the same: grey, black, white, silver, and maybe, if you are lucky, red, change is appreciated. Show your support to get the Hyundai Palisade N to become readily available at your local dealership!
At the time of writing, the petition has amassed a whopping 814 signatures – yes, that might not seem too much, but that is a potential 814 sales for Hyundai and certainly will be food for thought for the South Korean brand. The petition is still growing and could reach much higher numbers as the days and weeks go on.
While we may never know, we’d like to think that if Hyundai did build a Palisade N it would be powered by the new 3.5 litre twin-turbocharged V6 which is used in the upcoming Genesis GV80. With the GV80, it produces 380 horsepower, and if installed into the Palisade N, would make it a close competitor to the Ford Explorer ST.
