This Ford Bronco Would Be Perfect For A Grand Tour Road Trip Across The Country

We recently featured a render of a Ford Bronco van and, it’s safe to say, it was a hit with readers who were ready to burst through the gates of the company to demand such a thing in real life. Fortunately, the new Bronco is a serious bit of kit, with Ford obviously putting a lot of effort into its design. And for just over $30,000, what more can we ask for?

This 2-door spec comes with a feisty 300 horsepower 2.3-litre 4-pot, but if you sink $80,000 into the vehicle you can add a Raptor badge and an extra 118 horses. This is all well and good, but maybe there could be more for those of us who want to escape the world on our own Grand Tour? Well, renderer wb.artist20 has the answer.

This olive green Bronco is a real specimen with it featuring wider arches, large and utilitarian wheels with off-road rubber, and, oh yes, a cab-over camper section which has added a living space onto the vehicle. It’s nicely angled, fits the shape of the Bronco’s sloping windscreen, and has a large blacked-out window running down the side, front, and top of the design.

What I’m not so sure about is the low ride height.

If this Bronco was to be used to go literally anywhere, I’d want much more suspension travel, and to be honest, much thicker tyres. Currently it’s great at driving across a city, maybe up a kerb or two.

With these slight changes, this would be the perfect Grand Tourer to take you to any part of the world without having to rely on camping sites or hotels. Just pull over, have a beer, and enjoy the freedom.

It’s no surprise that the followers of Oscar’s Instagram page love this idea and have already started urging Ford to create such a thing. And we can’t blame them at all. Perhaps they could throw some solar panels on the top, though?

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
