You Can Now Buy This Hellcat Swapped Miata MX5

The Mazda Miata is an excellent enthusiast car. Lightweight, rear wheel drive, manual, it just lacks power in most cases. This has been solved by forced induction or engine swaps for years. However, this particular example has taken it to the next level. Head over to the ATM as it will be for sale at Barrett Jackson in Las Vegas next month.
YouTuber KARR decided to combine forced induction and an engine swap into this 1999 Miata to make one of the wildest vehicles you will ever see. The 6.2 liter supercharged Hellcat engine from a wrecked 2017 Dodge Challenger was quite literally shoehorned into the Miata. So was the Tremec TR-6060 6 speed manual. Can you say power-to-weight ratio?
Obviously this engine is significantly taller and wider than the 1.8 liter 4 cylinder engine that came stock. Some interesting body modifications were necessary to fit the Hellcat in, as you can see. Conveniently, access to the engine air filter and supercharger pulley is greatly improved over a stock Charger/Challenger.
A few holes in the hood are not the only alterations performed to make this swap work. The exhaust had to be routed forward and actually comes out in front of the front tires.  A Ford 8.8″ rear end has been installed to cope with the significant increase in torque. The interior has been upgraded with Sparco seats, harnesses and a roll bar. Also, VMP Performance tuned it so it now makes 683whp and 647wtq, because let’s be honest, 707 crank horsepower in a sub-3000 pound vehicle is pretty weak.
Barrett Jackson Las Vegas takes place October 3rd through the 5th.
