Lewis Hamilton Admits He Felt “Absolutely Robbed” After Verstappen Win Before Promising Serious 2022 Performance

Lewis Hamilton has revealed his true feelings behind what happened at the end of the 2021 F1 Season in Abu Dhabi as Max Verstappen took the world championship. The 7-time-world champion feels “absolutely robbed” as the Red Bull driver took the title.

This controversial moment angered F1 fans across the world, and the resulting uproar ended with race director Michael Masi being removed from the role after a deep investigation into what happened by the FIA.

Until recently, Hamilton took a break from all social media, and rumours circulated questioning whether he’d actually return to the sport. Fortunately for Hamilton fans, he has returned and will of course be racing with Mercedes-AMG in the 2022 F1 season.

“There will be nothing more than Lewis wants from this season than to destroy Max Verstappen,” former F1 driver and pundit Anthony Davidson told  Sky Sports.

“Let’s not beat around a bush, he feels absolutely robbed as to what happened last year in Abu Dhabi, he wants to come out with a dominant car and he doesn’t even want to see Max on track, I’m sure.

“He just wants to show him a clean pair of heels, disappear off into the distance and win his eighth world championship.”

Hamilton is keen to show fans the strength that he’s returned with, and is confident that he has returned with more performance than 2021 saying: “If you think what you saw at the end of last year was my best, wait until you see this year.”

Davidson continued:

“When Lewis Hamilton comes out with a sentence like that, you have to take notice.

“He sure is fired up to win this thing once and for all and I think he’ll be hard to beat. He’s certainly coming into this season with a very bullish mentality.”

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
