F1 News: Audi confirms 2026 F1 entry with Sauber

Following weeks and months of rumours suggesting Audi would enter F1 with Sauber, the German brand has now confirmed this will be the case in 2026.

Audi is now preparing to make its impact in F1 for the major regulations changes in 2026 when they will introduce their own power unit into the team.

Oliver Hoffman, a part of the Board for Technical Development, speaks about the team’s project:

“We are delighted to have gained such an experienced and competent partner for our ambitious Formula 1 project. 

“We already know the Sauber Group, with its state-of-the-art facility and experienced team from previous collaborations are convinced that together we will form a strong team.”

Finn Rausing, Sauber’s Chairman, explained why he decided to join forces with Audi:

“Audi is the best partner for the Sauber Group. It is clear that both companies share the same values and vision. 

“We are looking forward to achieving our common goals with a strong and successful partnership.”
