F1 News: Daniel Ricciardo Tests Positive With COVID-19 During Testing

Australian driver, Daniel Ricciardo, has tested positive for Covid-19 and so is self isolating in Bahrain. He is said to be out of isolation in time for the season opening race next weekend.

Ricciardo claimed to be feeling unwell from Wednesday after arriving in Bahrain and has since tested positive.

Ricciardo put on Twitter:

“Better this week than next, Unfortunate to miss the test, but I’m starting to feel better. I’ll stay isolated and just focus on next weekend.

“Big thanks to Lando and McLaren for the heavy lifting, I owe you some beers [milk for Lando]. Appreciate the well wishes from everyone.”

Thankfully, according to the McLaren racing team, Ricciardo is already feeling like he is on the mend. Team mate, Lando Norris, will continue in the MCL36 for the last day of the pre-season testing tomorrow in Bahrain.

Norris finished eighth fastest during the Friday session of the pre-season testing, with Kevin Magnussen making the fastest lap of the day after having an extra hour as they missed the Thursday morning session due to travel issues.
